Music Concert

On arriving at the venue we had hot chai and with avid interest saw the philately exhibition. The stamps featured musicians who have played a major role in shaping Indian music. We then got ready to listen to legends.

We attended 2 performances. One by Sawani Shende, who presented Raga Marwa, featuring the compositions “Gurunama Ka Sumiran Kariye” in Vilambit Ektaal and “Sapatasuran Me Parmeshwarroop” in Madhyalaya Tritaal. And another by Shri Shankar Lakshminarayana, an esteemed violinist. His performance showcased his unique blend of Carnatic music with global influences. He has invented the 10 string stereophonic double violin and is well-known for collaborating with a range of artists, including with Madonna. His spell-binding performance left all of us in awe and was a perfect way to end the evening. The performance left us spellbound and we reached school at around 10 pm with the music still playing in our heads.
