Friendship's Day

By Anvi Bharadwaj (Grade 9)

Friendship Day is one of the most anticipated events in Sahyadri. As every year, it was hosted by the Grade 9 students. They picked the nostalgic theme of ‘cartoons’, which reflected in the decor, activities, and menu of the event.

Friendship Day

Games and Activities

There were multiple activities that students and teachers both enjoyed, from 3-legged race to “who’s most likely to?” Cartoon trivia and Trust falls brought alive the message of the evening.

We witnessed a scene of gleaming faces at the photobooth along with crowds of people playing mini basketball, “guess the song”, and much more.

A Thematic Feast

The dinner was the highlight of the event with Powerpuff punch, Motu Patlu’s samosa chaat, Steve’s golden nuggets, Nobita Noodles, and the fan favorite Minion Mundae. A new and exciting feeling flooded the DH that night as it lit up with hues of familiar colours and cartoons. The essence of Friendship Day was brought alive with the cartoons most of us grew up watching, sending us down memory lane that evening. After all, it was these cartoons that taught us the value of friendship.

Reflections

Overall, the evening was a celebration of the strong bonds that have blossomed at Sahyadri. The smiles and laughter shared that day, the memories made, and the invaluable moments that happened are certainly indescribable, and we hope the next batch of organisers will take this very spirit of friendship forward as well.
