On the final day the boys of Grades 11 and 12 faced the boys of Grades 9 and 10 in a Football match. Both the teams chose their most suitable players for one of the most awaited events of the Sports Fest. The spectators too were excited.

Football Match Senior Boys

I was lucky enough to be a part of the Grades 11 and 12 team. The match took place after a break. This gave us ample time to rest and prepare ourselves. It was scheduled to begin at 2:50 pm, but there was a short delay.

The Grades 11 and 12 team, consisting of Shreyansh, Sohm, Dhirr, Yadhu, Chaitanya, Aarav, Kyntang, Rachit, Ved, Atreya, and myself, put up a spectacular wall of defense against the attackers from the opposing team. The Grades 9 and 10 team, consisting of Neel, Ekarth, Varad, Jourden, Atharv, Reyan, Nitin, Yash, Om, Vedansh, and Aarav Ali, also put up a spirited performance despite the strong pressure from our team.

Yadhu scored a breathtaking goal in the early minutes. The scoreboard stood still for a short while until a free kick was called for the Grades 9 and 10 team. They utilized this free kick to score an amazing goal. Not long after this, halftime was called.

After halftime both the teams were re-energized. For the first few minutes of the second half, not much was accomplished by either team. But, after breaking through the defense, Chaitanya from the Grades 11 and 12 team made a spectacular run and scored a goal. A short while later he was able to break past the defenders a second time and score yet another goal, making the score 3 - 1 in favour of the Grades 11 and 12 team. These two goals filled the Grades 11 and 12 team with confidence.

The Grades 9 and 10 team then bounced back, and following a series of passes to Jourden were able to score a goal. This goal turned out to be their last and the Grades 11 and 12 team emerged winners.

Though the Grades 9 and 10 team lost, they had not only shown great sportsmanship and skill but had also played excellently throughout the entire match. All in all, this match taught us all the importance of team sports, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the match.
