An Essence of a Sahyadri Sports Fest
By Yuana Garg (Grade 10)
As the sun rose to the marching of our footsteps, the first day of the Sports Fest began with a bang. The day witnessed a field packed with energy, excitement, and the spirit of friendly competition.

From the early morning events like the juniors’ Kho-Kho match (first ever in the school’s history) and the 200m run for the junior girls, every moment kept the audience engaged and entertained.
The victories of the 7th Grade against their seniors in football and the 11th and 12th Grades’ Football matches, along with the records broken by Sohm and Kanishka in the High Jump, were watched with fingers crossed. Each achievement was celebrated with immense joy, loud cheers, and a strong sense of pride.
As the day came to an end, we witnessed exceptional performances in the cricket match, where the teachers truly proved that the students still had a lot to learn. Amrit, Aarav, and Bhuvi added to the experience with humorous commentary.
Soon the sun set, and all of us returned to our dorms with aching legs, tired smiles, and hearts full of excitement. We look forward to more such days of sportsmanship, enthusiasm, and unforgettable memories in the fun-filled days ahead.
On the second day, javelins were initially being thrown left and right. The PE students then taught the participants the correct way to go about. The younger students tried their hand at javelins too. The entire school watched the senior boys’ Discus and Shot Put events with avid interest. Students put in strong performances in events like Javelin Throw and Long Jump as well.
Another exciting event was the Basketball match where Grades 11 and 12 faced each other. Both the teams kept everyone on their toes and the outgoing batch won with a small margin.
